Y3 Local Walk

Y3 enjoyed a 3KM local walk this morning, taking in the paths around the perimeter of our Woodland Adventures Site.   Our geography focus is on how woodlands are used and managed, so this was the perfect opportunity to go and see woodland management in action in our local area.

Along the way we spotted wooden infrastructure such as fences, telegraph poles, gates, signs and buildings.  We practised our map reading skills, all following our individual maps and working out which path we should take at forks and cross roads before proceeding.    Although the movement time was just over an hour, we were out of school for two hours but stopped along the way for snacks, bark rubbing, leaf identification and photo opportunities!
