Reading at Home

In Squirrels Class, we expect all children to read a minimum of three times per week, with their progress recorded in BoomReader. Students can access the Little Wandle online library, along with weekly phonics and library books. Please feel free to reach out to us if you need any additional support.

Tapestry

One of the fantastic features of Tapestry is that parents can also add observations/wow moments from home to your child’s journal. This is a great way of supporting us in assessing your child outside the school environment. It also provides us with opportunities to celebrate any achievements your child has made at home, as we'll always comment on your uploads and discuss them at school with your child!

Learning at Home

The RKE sheets below relate to our current learning in Squirrels Class and consist of three sections:

  • R (Remember): This is a recap of previous learning. We expect all children to know this section before starting our new unit.

  • K (Know): This is where all the new, exciting learning happens at school.

  • E (Explore): Suggestions for home activities to support learning.

At the end of each half-term, students can present their 'Explore work' in assembly, showcasing their achievements and pride.
