Welcome to Red Kites Class!
Red Kites are taught by Mrs Kelsey and Miss Sha. Typically, Mrs Kelsey will be with the class on a Monday and Tuesday and Mrs Sha from Wednesday to Friday. Time out of class for PPA or subject leadership will usually be covered by Mrs Harper or Miss Roberts.
We have lots of exciting things lined up this year, including school trips, a production in the Spring Term and a residential event in the Summer Term.
Engagement at home with home learning is vitally important to help your child achieve the Year 3 expectations. We ask that all pupils read at least three times a week, and it is recorded on Boom Reader. Spellings will be sent home on a Monday evening following a test that day. There will be 5 new spellings given each week with up to 25 being tested each week.
In Year 3 we also use the online learning platform 'Century Learning'. All pupils have an individual login and all the learning is personalised for them. Pupils are encouraged to access this at home to support their learning in school.
Communication is key, so if there is any aspect of school life that you would like to discuss, please get in touch either by talking to Mrs Kelsey or Miss Sha at home time or emailing the school office. Please note we can not respond to emails while teaching, therefore 48 hours is the email response window.
Every half-term, as a parent or carer, you will receive an email with an overview poster of what we will be learning that half-term. You will also receive RKE sheets (Remember, Know, Explore) for each foundation subject we will be focusing on. These RKE sheets let you know in more detail what we will be learning about and key vocabulary which we will be using.
All future updates will be posted on the Red Kites Blog page.
