Year 4 went on an unforgettable trip to the Shah Jahan Mosque in Woking. It is the first purpose-built Mosque in the UK, built 137 years ago in 1889. After removing our shoes, we were given a tour around all the different prayer rooms, sat in the Mihrab (the 'throne' in the prayer room which indicates the direction of Mecca), met the Mosque's cat Coco and we even experienced watching prayer in action! Thank you to the Mosque and Mr Habib who showed us around.
