I live in the village, having grown up on the Isle of Wight and spent time in Italy, where I taught English as a Foreign Language, before moving to London and latterly settling in the Haslemere area in 2018. I have three young children, with the eldest currently attending Fernhurst Primary and others set to join in the coming years.
Professionally, I specialise in archaeology and cultural heritage at an Engineering and Environmental Consultancy, advising on historic environment matters.
As a parent, I’ve seen firsthand the school’s strengths - from the fantastic Friends of Fernhurst School (FoFS) to the impressive trips and experiences the school offers. My experience of the staff has been incredibly positive, and for a small rural primary, it often exceeds expectations.
I believe reputation and perception are key to a school’s success. I want to see Fernhurst thrive, drawing in families who are actively seeking a place for their children here.
I’m very motivated in this role to be able to contribute to improvements that make the school a standout environment for learning and working - where pupils, parents, staff and the wider community collaborate for the betterment of all. With extensive managerial and leadership experience, including mentorship, career development, and talent recruitment / retention, I hope to provide valuable ideas and direction beyond the day-to-day school operations.
